Start with your bulb size, headlight housing and installation requirements—not a brightness number alone.

Choosing LED headlight bulbs starts with understanding the vehicle you already drive. A matching socket is important, but it is only one part of a successful installation. Housing design, available space, electrical requirements and road-use rules all deserve a check before you order.

Identify the bulb size and lighting function

Check your owner's manual, a reliable vehicle parts reference or the marking on the existing bulb. Confirm whether you are replacing low beams, high beams or a combined low/high-beam bulb. Model year and trim can change the original lighting equipment.

H11, H7, H4, 9005 and 9006 are bulb designations, not universal fitment promises. Do not assume that two similarly shaped bulbs are interchangeable.

Check the housing, clearance and connection

A bulb that connects to the socket may still interfere with the dust cover or other parts of the assembly. Compare the listed bulb dimensions with the space behind the housing. Keep any specified cooling components clear and follow the product instructions.

Some vehicles monitor bulb operation electronically. Ask about your exact vehicle and application rather than assuming an adapter or decoder is included or required.

Compare the complete lighting setup

Consider beam control, correct aiming and compatibility with the housing—not just advertised lumens or wattage. A higher output figure alone does not establish how a replacement bulb will illuminate the road or affect other drivers.

LED replacements are not automatically approved for public-road use. Verify applicable regulations and the approval of the specific bulb and headlamp combination before installation.
